He was born in 1623 in Clermont, France. One of the most well known mathematicians of all time. His mother Antoinette died when he was 3 years old, they moved to Paris and he was homeschooled because his father didn't trust Pascal’s education on public schools. Étienne was a very good mathematician but he didn’t allow his son to study mathematics. Pascal became more curious and interested in this subject because he wasn’t taught about it. According to his sister Gilberte he discovered Geometry on his own. In late 1661 Pascal fell ill and by June of the next year, he was so ill he moved in with Gilberte. Blaise Pascal died of an undiagnosed illness on August 19, 1662.

Formulas

The unit of pressure is the pascal (Pa). Pressure is the amount of force divided by area, one pascal is one newton per square meter (N/m^2). Most pressure are given in kilopascals (kPa) because 1 Pa is a small amount of pressure.

This is another way pascal's formula can be written.
